At Petersfield - Hampshire

Sorry we have not updated since we arrived in the UK. We have not managed to get online thru our cellphone.

We are with John Sollis (ex Moving Pictures) and his partner Jackie at Petersfield. They have taken us for a drive thru the beautiful countryside in this area.

Our flight to the UK went to schedule including an upgrade from Hong Kong to London. We were the first flight from Auckland into the UK after the bloody Icelandic volcano.
The driver was waiting for us and whisked us to our accommodation in Winchelsea where we picked up the camper.
The camper is great. Much better than we expected.
We drove thru to Rye, an ancient town, where we had a great walk thru the old town.
After buying some supplies we spent our first night at Hastings in a camping ground.

Hastings is a mini Brighton with a sea front and arcade.

The next day we spent 1/2 a day shopping for all the things we need like pots, duvet, kettle, toaster etc etc. We bought most of the stuff at Tesco's and price wise it was about the same as NZ.
The next night was spent again in a camping ground at Brighton, found after a hair raising drive thru the centre for Brighton. As the weather is fine, every man and his dog seem to be descending on Brighton.

This morning we walked along the sea front, around the town (amazing buildings), and out onto the pier before driving thru to Petersfield to see John. We are spending the night here and will head west tomorrow.

Learning to drive in a left hand drive vehicle down the narrow roads has caused Val to use some unlady-like language!!!!

Well you are now up to date. We will post again when we get our internet sorted out.

Don and Val
